Title | Hydrogen and oxygen isotopic composition in atmospheric vapor (on board the icebreaker SHIRASE) |
Sub-Title | Stable water vapor isotopologues |
Data Summary | Continuous measurement of water vapor isotopologues (HDO and H218O) was conducted along the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE) cruise tracks on the icebreaker Shirase. A Water Vapor Isotope Analyzer (WVIA) with a Water Vapor Isotope Standard Source (WVISS) from Los Gatos Research (LGR) Inc. was installed in an air-conditioned labo- ratory placed on the top deck of Shirase. Ambient air samples were drawn at an altitude of 30 m above the sea surface into the WVIA-WVISS coupled system with a 5 m length of perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA) tube. H2O concentration and water vapor isotopologues were recorded by the WVIA every second and hourly integrated data were archived. |
