| Data Summary | Field observations by portable broadband seismometers have been carried out at several outcrops around the Soya Coast Region, in the Lutzow-Holm Bay (LHB), East Antarctica since 1996. The recording system is composed of a three-component portable broadband seismometer, a digital recording unit and solar power supply. These data are of good enough quality to be used for various waveform analyses to clarify the heterogeneous structure of the crust and the upper mantle of the region. The obtained data have advantages not only to the lithospheric studies but also to the deep Earth's interior such as the CMB and D" zones by applying as a large span array stations in the polar region. These observations will be a efficient cooperatives to the Global Alliance of Regional Networks (GARNET). Several international programs (POLENET, AGAP/GAMSEIS, SERCE, etc.) have been conducted in cooperation to the seismic array observations in LHB. |
