Title | Inffrasound digital records at field stations in LHB |
Sub-Title | Continuous digital data by infrasound array observation at field sites |
Data Summary | Characteristic features of infrasound waves observed at Antarctica reveal the physical interaction involving surface environmental variations in the Antarctic continent and surrounding Southern Oceans. In austral summer in 2013, several field stations by infrasound sensors are established along the coast of the Lutzow-Holm Bay (LHB), East Antarctica by the 54th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-54). Two infrasound arrays with different size of diameters are installed both at SYO (in 100 m spacing triangle) and S16 area on continental ice sheet (in 1000 m spacing triangle), respectively. Besides, two isolated single stations are deployed at two outcrops in LHB. The newly established infrasound arrays clearly detecte the propagating directions and frequency dependency of the microbaroms from the Southern Ocean. |
