| Data Summary | This archive collects meteorological radiosonde observation data conducted at Syowa Station, on the Antarctic ice sheet, and on the Southern Ocean. These observations were conducted as a research project of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE) and cover the period from December 2014 (JARE-56) to September 2022 (JARE-63). At Syowa Station, observations were conducted in response to the YOPP-SH (Year Of Polar Prediction in the Southern Hemisphere) project in response to the WMO intiative. On the Antarctic ice sheet, fixed-point observations were made at S17 and H128 in the coastal area and at Dome Fuji Station in the inland area. In addition, three mobile observations were conducted along the traverse route between the coast and Dome Fuji Station. At-sea observations were conducted along the route of the Antarctic research vessel Shirase. |
